Pang Ukol (Preposition)

is a word which shows relationship among other words in the sentence. This relationships include direction, place, cause, manner and amount. A preposition always goes with a noun or pronoun which is called the object of the preposition.  The preposition is almost always before the noun or pronoun and that is why it is called a preposition.  The preposition and the object of the preposition together are called a prepositional phrase.

Gamit ng Pang Ukol (Uses of Preposition)

  • shows position or direction of subject or object in a sentence.

    eg: Ang prutas ay nasa loob ng basket.

  • shows the cause or possession.

    eg: Ang gamot ay para kay lola.

  • as object purpose of a noun or pronoun

    eg: Ang isinulat nya ay para sa negosyante.
